Q. Is Therapy Confidential?
A. Therapy sessions are confidential and State and local laws protect the content. All personal information collected in association with the web site will only be used for the purpose of providing for the client a safe, therapeutic experience.
Q. Are there exceptions to Confidentiality?
A. Yes, Our policy is to keep your information confidential! However, there are some exceptions we follow strict legal and ethical guidelines that dictate when we may not keep your information private. Exceptions involve suspected incidents of child abuse and neglect, safety, domestic violence, national security, spousal abuse, homicide, and suicide.
Q. What are the credentials of the Therapists?
A. All clinical therapists are licensed clinical therapists practicing on a graduate or doctoral level. All therapists are credentialed by the state licensing body in Georgia.
Q. Who is eligible for services?
A. Any person who resides within the state of Georgia in which the therapists holds state license.
Q. What will a typical appointment be like?
A. During your first appointment you and your therapists will go over the initial intake provided to you via email prior to the initial session and discuss your current concerns.
Q. How can I schedule an appointment?
A. Appointments can be scheduled through our website or by phone. Through our website participants may create a membership profile hosting basic demographic and billing information as well as identify their service needs. Participants may also schedule via phone by calling (706) 507-3141.
Q. How do I make a referral?
A. Referrals can be made via phone, case worker, primary health physician or online.
Q. How long are scheduled appointments?
A. In general, appointments last 45-55 minutes. Some may be longer or shorter, depending upon circumstances. If you are unable to keep an appointment, it is imperative that you call to cancel/reschedule at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Failure to call will result in an assessment of $80 no call no show fee.
Q. What are the fees?
A. Services are provided at the following cost(s):
- $200- Initial Assessment
- $165- Individual Sessions
- $135 Adolescence (age 10-19 yrs)
- $165 - Couple Sessions
- $200 - Family Sessions (3 or more) 90 minutes
- $50 -Group
All major credit cards (Visa, Discover, MasterCard, Health Spending accounts, and American Express) are accepted. Care Credit cards are NOT accepted. Precious Minds Counseling & Consulting, LLC is also a authorized provider for several insurance providers and EAPs. Beneficiaries of insurer accepted may have services billed through this entity.
Yes, we have a sliding fee however the slots are limited. Our sliding fee discount program is patient centered, improves access to care, and assures that no patient will be denied mental behavioral care services due to an inability to pay. It is the goal of Precious Minds Counseling & Consulting (PMCC) to charge patients according to their ability to pay. Patients who have either no third party reimbursement or inadequate coverage will be placed on a
sliding fee scale according to family size and proof of income.
Q. What are the hours of operation?
A. Precious Minds Counseling & Consulting is open Monday through Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Saturday's a month 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Some therapist take clients as late as 8:00 p.m. please call the office to inquire. If you should have an emergency during business hours please call 911.

Q. What if I have a crisis and my therapist is not readily available?
A. If by chance this may occur (not likely) there are several therapist in the office and one would be assigned to you until your therapist is available.
Q. What if I don't prefer the traditional face-to face therapy?
A. All of our therapists are trained in Tele-Mental Health and video (TherapyNotes).
Q. Why use Online/Video Counseling?
A. Services are confidential and can be done in the privacy of your own home though your choice of video conferencing medium.
Q. What if I’m not satisfied?
A. Transition out of therapy or to another type of service is part of the goal of therapy. As you or your child progress with their treatment goals, a review will be done to determine the need to continue services. The counselor will be discussing appropriate community options if you wish to pursue them when you or child leaves Precious Minds Counseling & Consulting services. Termination is available at any time.
Q. May I use EAP services for couple therapy?
A. No, EAP employers usually give their employees three to six sessions which is considered Solution Focused. On average, Marriage Counseling is 12 to 20 sessions that is Emotional Focused.
Q. What if I do not have insurance and can't afford services.
A, PMCC provide services to all patients regardless of their ability to pay. We offer discount fees for patients who qualify, based on family size and income. For more information please download, sliding fee discount policy.
